３月２４日-３月２５日　Day 26 in the Philippines

最近、日曜には教会に行くようにしてる。フィリピン人は敬虔なクリスチャンが多い。

I often go to the church on Sunday. in the Philippines there are many pious Christians.

彼らの事を深く知る事ができるのと、神聖な場所で心を浄化させる為に行くようにしてる。

Going to and learning about the church helps me to better understand Filipinos and

is also for the purification of my mind.

無宗教なのにそんなに教会に行く人も珍しいと思うけど、魂が喜んでいるようで居心地がいい。

There is  rare because I am an atheist, but I go to church. My soul feels…perhaps glad…when I am there.  

教会で学んだ事の一つに「寄付」がある。ミサの最中にお金を入れる箱が回ってきて

One of the thing I learned from the church is donating. 

自分の気持ちをその中に入れ次の人に渡す。イスラム教では「喜捨」と言って富める者は

What happens is the donation box passed around during the mass, and people put in amounts of money.  

貧しいものに寄付するのは宗教上の決まりごとでもある。

In the Tenets of Islam, wealthy people must give to the poor.

Christians and Muslims have the habit of giving.

じゃあ、日本人はどうなんだろう？

３月２２日　Day 23 in the Philippines

今日はけんご君のお別れの日。彼はここに来て一番最初に話した人。

Sadly, today is Kengo’s last day, he is the first person I talked to here in EIEN.

それから今日までよく一緒に遊んだよね。そっか今日でお別れか。。。

日本人には「R」と「L」の発音は難しい。

Japanese find it difficult to pronounce “L” and “R”. 

できるようになるまで「ドリル」として何度も何度もやり直しさせられる。

I have to keep doing drills until I get it right.

しかし、それをクリアすると一つ上のレベルに行く事ができる。

When I master the drills I can move onto a higher level.

今夜の飲み会の前に買い物をしようと足早にシャングリラモールに向かっていた。

I walked quickly to Shang-rila Mall before I went to a drinking session.

すると途中の道端で一人の小学生位の女の子が「お金をください」と話しかけてきた。

Then along the road, an elementary school-aged girl came and asked me for money.

１５年以上近く愛用している香り「EGOISTE PLATINUM」

I have been using Egoiste Platinum colongne.

EGOISTE PLATINUM＝俺　という認識がある程使い続けた香水。

Everyone recognizes this as my scent

しかし！いつまでも「エゴイスト」ではいけないかと思い、思い切って変えてみることにした。

 But I want to change my cologne, becauze of the meaning behind the name, although I liｋe the scent.

３月１６日～１９日　Day 20 in the Philippines

３月１６日　寮から徒歩１５分MetroWalkで２０人規模の最大飲み会。

I went to the biggest drinking session so far, with 20 other people,

15-20 minute walk away flom the dormitory.

俺とケンゴ君で「和食を食べよう！」でフライヤーまで作って企画したんだけど、

突然ですが、ちょっと「Ａ」という音を発声してみてもらっていいでしょうか？？

「エイ」です。口角があがりスマイルになるでしょ？？

笑顔になる事を意識する言語っていうのもなかなかオモシロイと思う今日この頃。

そんな中、週末に帰国する一流商社に内定が決った京大生takafumi君の送別会。

Today was the farewell party for Takafumi.He is leaveing on the weekend,

and he will soon work for a major japanese company.
