４月８日Day 40 in the Philippines
昨日バーで知り合った別グループのメンバーが
Yesterday, I met group who wanted to teach me surfing.
サーフィンを教えて欲しいと言うので朝から合流する事にした。
We got together in the morning.
決るとこんな感じらしい
If the conditions are this good…
でも、今日の波はこんな感じ。
But today’s waves are like this…
みんなマイペースにサーフィンしたり、休んだり。
So everyone is doing their own things.

今回レンタルしたボード。
I rented this board.
たくさん良い波にサンセットまで乗った。あと一本と思ったところで、ふと思った。
I caught many good waves and surfed until sunset.
「ここまでで十分。感謝してあがろう」 スッと切れよくあがった。
I realized, that was enough for today. I thanked the sea and left.
その後、カラオケでカメラや荷物を持っていった仲間と合流。
Then I met a friend at a karaoke place, he had my stuff.
自分の荷物を他人に任すなんて、この旅始まって以来。それだけ気がおけたって事なんだ。
I’ve never left my things with other people in all my travels, but I did this time because I trust them.
しかし、返ってきた答えは「えっ、カメラの袋とサンダルは置いたままだよ」と言われ、
But when I asked them, they had my hat but they said “Oh, your camera and bags are still on the beach”
急いで３人で戻った。海は満ちてきてもとのいた場所は水に飲まれていた。
Then we quickly went back to the beach. It was already high tide, the water had already drenched the area.
しかし、運良くカメラの入ったビニール袋は、その場所に合った。
Fortunately, we found it in a dry place.
もし、あの時「あと、一本」って言ってたらカメラは見つからなかっただろう。
If I had chosen to catch another wave, maybe the camera would have been gone.
感謝して、足るを知る。少しだけ成長できたかな？
I thought “to know one has enough to be satisfied with one’s lot in life”
and I felt gratitude.
「みんな家族のように付き合ってる」
” We are like a family” Vhon said during Karaoke time.
気を取り直してカラオケを歌いながら語っていたＶｈｏｎが一言そういった。
This is Filipino style. Baler.. It was wonderful time. Thanks guys!!
